The Left Party "Fair World" nominated 90 people to the precinct election commissions of the Homieĺ region: in Homieĺ, Zhlobin, Žlobin, Mazyr, Kalinkavičy, Rahačoŭ, Buda-Kašaliova and Svietlahorsk. However, only one nomination was approved: Halina Hutsko was included in the election commission in Mazyr.

Today’s meeting of the Mazyr district executive committee formed local precinct election commissions.

The sixty-nine precinct election commissions of Salihorsk district were formed in as little as 35 minutes. No representatives of the opposition were included in the election commissions.

Two observers accredited at the Biaroza district election commission, Siarhei Rusetski, who was nominated by the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, and Tamara Shchapiotkina, proposed by collecting signatures of voters, were not allowed to be present during the verification of signatures collected for presidential contenders.

The Navapolack City Department of Internal Affairs has closed an investigation of a claim submitted by Tatsiana Ladukas, a member of Tatsiana Karatkevich’s nomination group.

On August 25, the Baranavičy city executive committee held a meeting, which approved without any discussion a list of candidates for 68 precinct election commissions of the city.

Ihar Kiryn, an observer of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, was not admitted to yesterday’s meeting of the Hlusk district executive committee, which considered the issue of forming local precinct election commissions.

The United Civil Party members have gathered 52,158 signatures, according to its leader Anatol Liabedzka, which is not enough for his registration as a presidential candidate. However, the party is not going to leave the campaign.

According to information announced by the chairman of the election commission of Babrujsk’s Pieršamajski district, the greatest number of signatures was submitted by the nomination group of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

On Saturday, August 22, the Smarhoń district election commission met to address the question of selecting signatures for checking.

Observation of the election of the President of Belarus is carried out by activists of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee and the Human Rights Center "Viasna" in the framework of the campaign "Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections".

Presidential contender Siarhei Kaliakin will not submit the collected signatures to the election commissions, but will call on citizens to vote against all.

The democratic parties participating in the presidential election have nominated 54 contenders to the polling station election commissions of the Hrodna region.

Aliaksei Lapitski, observer of the campaign "Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections" in Žodzina, has filed complaints to the Central Election Commission and the Minsk Regional Executive Committee to appeal against the city election commission, which refused to address numerous facts of abuse of administrative resources in collecting signatures by the initiative group of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
