Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections

According to members of the electoral team, who collect signatures in support of the nomination of Mrs. Karatkevich a candidate for the presidential elections, the incident took place on Saturday at their picket in Savieckaja Street.

As reported by civil society activist Aliaksei Paulouski, this method is used by officials of Karma District Executive Committee, who collect signatures in support of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

August 7, Anatol Liabedzka visited the pickets of his electoral team in Babrujsk. One of the pickets was held at the checkpoint of the JSC “Bielšyna” (“Belarusian Tyre”), where about a thousand of workers have been dismissed this year.

Hrodna human rights defenders Sviatlana Rudkouskaya and Raman Yurhel have received official responses from the territorial election commissions of Lieninski and Kastryčnicki district of Hrodna.

In the town of Bialyničy, signatures are actively collected by members of the electoral teams of Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Tatsiana Karatkevich.

As learned by the Human Rights Center "Viasna", signatures in support of the nomination of the candidacy of the incumbent President A. Lukashenka were collected at the JSC “Mazhalit” during working hours.

A number of Brest citizens challenge at the Supreme Court the verdict of Brest Regional Court, which refused to bring a case concerning the order of forming of Brest Regional Election Commission by Brest Regional Council and Brest Regional Executive Committee.

Mozyr human rights activist, participant of the election monitoring Uladzimir Tseliapun came to the conclusion, that the local authorities don't hurry to carry out resolution of the Central Election Commission №22 of July 1, 2015.

In eastern Belarus, in the town of Klimavičy, signatures are collected only by representatives of the electoral teams of only three of the eight contenders for the presidency of the Republic of Belarus.

Vital Kalinouski, a member of the initiative group in support of the nomination of Tatsiana Karatkevich a presidential, stated that the headmater of the local gymnasium Aliaksandr Hrusheuski ordered all personnel to subscribe for Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

This was reported by some residents of Brest, working in organizations that are part of "Belnaftakhim" (“Belarusian Oil Chemistry”) concern. One could receive a ticket-invitation to the concert dated to the City Day in exchange for a signature in support for the nomination of the candidacy of the incumbent President for the presidnetial election.

A resident of the village of Paryčy (Svietlahorsk district) Nadzeya Dudarenka held a picket to collect signatures in support of the nomination of Viktar Tsiareshchanka as a presidential candidate. Nadzeya Dudarenka is a member of his electoral team.

According to article 23.33 of the Code of Adminstrative Offenses,the non-state newspaper can be fined for up to 500 basic amounts (90 million rubles).

A meeting with a “member of parliament” was organised at "Viciebskdreŭ" ("Viciebsk Wood") plant on August 4. The meeting was free for all.

The company's employees have reported that the ideologist of the enterprise had summoned an officer of each structural subdivision, and handed them signature sheets so that they would start collecting signatures in support of the nomination of the candidacy of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
