Salihorsk: PEC chairman considers appeal of independent observer by himself
Mikhail Kudzelka, Chairman of precinct election commission No. 32 in Salihorsk, refused to consider the appeal of an observer of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Uladzimir Shyla, in which the latter asked to hold the elections openly and transparently, collegiately,
“Pitifully enough, the commission didn't consider my appeal collegiately. The decision on it was taken by Mr. Kudzelka, all by himself. The essence of his reply is that everything will be done in conformity with the electoral legislation, as usual. I understand it so that during the calculation of votes we will against have the chance to see only the backs of the show of illusionists,” says Uladzimir Shyla with irony.
Let us remind that the independent observer proposed the commission to honestly implement the provision of the Electoral Code about the separate calculation of votes with voicing the numbers after each stage – early voting, home voting, voting on the election day, and the final results. Mr. Shyla also asked to be given the opportunity to see each ballot and for whom the vote was cast in it.
