Coordinative Council of NGOs and political parties of Mahilioŭ region calls on people to support Aliaksandr Lukashenka
According to the Mahilioŭ human rights activist Barys Bukhel, this is the first case of overt campaigning in the local media in support of Aliaksandr Lukashenka apart from the publication of the electoral programs of the presidential candidates.
The call of the Coordinative Council of NGOs and political parties was published in the issue of the newspaper “ Mahilioŭskija Veidamasci” for September 29. As reported in the publication, it was adopted at the general meeting of the council on September 24.
The appeal calls on the people to “implement your civic duty and, being guided by your heart and the sense of personal responsibility for the fate of our homeland, elect a worthy person for the post of President of the Republic of Belarus, who is known by the Belarusian people and has earned credibility and the trust of the population by his devoted service to Belarus.”
In addition, the appeal says that the public organizations and political parties of the Mahilioŭ region support the socio-economic policy, proposed by the head of the state.
It should be noted that the so-called Coordinative Council of public and political organizations of the region includes only the organizations and parties that are loyal to the government, that's why the publication of such a statement during the electoral campaign is quite logical.
It is noteworthy that the newspaper does not list these organizations and parties.
