Baranavičy: 30 football fans detained in picket in support of Tatsiana Karatkevich and against Russian military bases
On September 27, opposition activist Ryhor Hryk in Baranavičy staged a picket in support of presidential candidate Tatsiana Karatkevich and against the Russian military bases. The protest was held under a white-red-white flag and a Ukrainian flag, as well as a flag of the independent trade union of Radio Electronic Industry (REP). During the picket, Ryhor Hryk arranged a performance: he was wearing prison clothes and his hands were chained.
At the beginning of the picket, the protester was approached by a police officer, who soon left after hearing that the rally was part of Tatsiana Karatkevich’s election campaign.
An hour later, the picketer was approached by some 30 football fans, who had come to support Baranavičy FC in a match against Biaroza FC. However, a police bus immediately arrived and the fans were taken to the city department of internal affairs.
