Observers can record audio and video only if election committees allow it
The Movement for Freedom is planning to send more than 200 observers to the coming presidential election, BelaPAN reports. Its activists asked the CEC whether they could bring and use audio and video appliances as well as optical devices at polling stations.
According to article 13 of the Election Code, ‘election committees have the right (but are not obliged) to allow the usage of audio and video appliances to observers’, the Central Election Commission replied.
The usage of special optical devices ‘is not statutory’, Lidziya Yarmoshyna stressed.
