Bialyničy: Administrative resources used to arrange meetings with Lukashenka’s trustee
On September 17, Iryna Akulovich, a trustee of presidential candidate Aliaksandr Lukashenka and head of the state broadcasting company “Mahilioŭ”, visited Bialyničy district to take part in a series of meetings with voters.
In particular, Ms. Akulovich met with employees of the local mobile mechanical division No. 241, as well as residents of the agricultural towns Ciachcin and Višoŭ, says local government-run newspaper “Zara nad Drucciu.
Irina Akulovich urged the voters to support Aliaksandr Lukashenka, as “his program is the way to preserve stability and order, freedom and independence, the path of unity and reconciliation, development and progress.”
According to local pro-democracy activists, administrative resources were extensively used when arranging the three meetings. Employees of the above companies and local educational and cultural institutions were ordered to attend the meetings Lukashenka’s campaign headquarters activist. During the meeting in Višoŭ, chairman of the Radzima collective farm said that they “had a lot of tasks before us, and we will continue to successfully meet them with our President, Aliaksandr Lukashenka.” Meetings with voters in Ciachcin and Višoŭ were held at 10 and 12 p.m., respectively, when many of the people attending them were supposed to be at work. The district newspaper dedicated almost the entire front page to a report about the meetings, accompanying them by voters’ comments who expressed confidence in Aliaksandr Lukashenka and called on “everyone to vote for a strong and prosperous Belarus.”
