Only one representative of opposition on election commissions in Sluck

712 people have been included in the 69 precinct election commissions of Sluck district, with only one representative of the opposition.

Local opposition forces had nominated a total of 23 representatives. BPF delegated 15 people. Another 8 people were nominated by the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada). All the BPF nominations were rejected without explanation. One member of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party managed to get a seat on a precinct election commission. However, the reasons for refusal to the remaining seven members of the party's were not clarified at the executive committee’s meeting.

The meeting that created 69 precinct election commissions lasted only 13 minutes. There was no discussion of the candidates, as all the lists had been prepared in advance without any public scrutiny. According to representatives of the Sluck district executive committee, the commissions included persons with experience of such work in the past, and those who knew how to work with people in the team and had the authority in their working places. It is unclear how the officials managed within such a short period to analyze the skills and the subjective qualities of hundreds of applicants to members of election commissions. What is known is that a significant proportion of them are members of traditional pro-government organizations of various types: Belaya Rus, the Belarusian National Youth Union, the Belarusian Union of Women and the national organization of veterans.

It is worth noting that the local representatives of the Belarusian Popular Front disagreed with the decision and prepared a complaint to the court.
