Salihorsk: administrative resources abused when collecting signatures for Lukashenka
Salihorsk human rights activists have received the first signals of administrative resources used by Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s campaign group when collecting signatures for his nomination.
Describes the regional representative of the Belarusian Committee Leonid Helsinkaskaga Markhotko:
“We have already received some evidence of collecting signatures in support of Aliaksandr Lukashenka by civil servants in various government institutions. A case occurred in the Salihorsk employment center during lessons of professional development. One of the employees nearly ordered that the students signed for the head of state. After citizens asked to show her certificate of a member of the initiative group, the employee refused to do so and left. Similar information about the use of administrative resources by the team of Mr. Lukashenka came to us from the mining and chemical college,” human rights activist Leanid Markhotka says.
The BHC representative urges citizens to report to independent observers on all the facts of using administrative resources and other violations of electoral law.
