Minsk city election commission: 61.5% of 2014 commissioners
Of the nine nominated representatives of the opposition parties only three will work in the territorial commissions of Minsk. Dzmitry Kaspiarovich (BPF) – Minsk city election commission, Yury Suares (the Party "Fair World") – the Saviecki district election commission, and Nadzeya Shomchanka (the Belarusian Social Democratic party (Hramada) – the Zavodski district election commission.
Meanwhile, the city commission includes five former members who worked in the same commission during the presidential election of 2010. As compared with the list of 2014 (local elections), the Minsk city commission received a total of 5 new members.
“If we compare the composition of the Minsk city election commission in 2015 to its composition in 2010, it remained unchanged in 38.5% of its members, as compared with 2014 - 61.5%,” said Valiantsina Sviatskaya, a representative of the campaign “Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections”.
Eight representatives of political parties were nominated to the Minsk city election commission (40%), 11 from public associations (55%), 2 people - by collecting signatures of citizens (5%).
To the district commissions political parties nominated 25 persons (18.7%), 69 (59.1%) - from public associations, 14 people - from labor collectives and 26 - by collecting signatures from citizens.
