Only 1 new member on Žodzina election commission
The Žodzina city election commission, whose composition was approved on July 21 in just 17 minutes, will have only one new member, Yauheniya Milchenia, an employee of local social protection service, who was nominated by a group of citizens.
During the joint meeting of the Presidium of the Žodzina City Executive Committee and the Council of Deputies, the new commissioner was characterized as a ‘very responsible’ person.
All the remaining candidates to the municipal election commission were voted for at the same time, without discussion.
According to local observer Aliaksei Lapitski, the election commission is composed of either current of former government officials.
The main electoral authority in the city has no representation from opposition or independent organizations.
