Hrodna: no representatives of opposition parties on TECs
Hrodna observers report that the formation of territorial election commissions at joint meetings of the district administrations and the presidiums of local councils brought no surprises. Nominees from the democratic forces were not included in the election commissions. Moreover, their candidacies were not even put on a vote.
The meeting at the regional executive committee lasted a little longer than usual – 25 minutes. The structure of the regional TEC included 13 people, and the nominees were voted for one by one. Initially, 19 people were nominated, but the administration did not recommended that the remaining 6 people be put on a vote. For example, a nominee of the Belarusian Party of the Left "Fair World" Pavel Staneuski was told that he was unemployed, besides the party’s local office is not very active, according to the authorities. Aliaksandra Vasilevich, local leader of the United Civil Party Not, and a representative of the LDP, were not included in the commission, either.
A meeting at the Hrodna City Executive Committee formed the TECs of the Lieninski and Kastryčnicki districts. The commissions will have 13 members each. Representatives of democratic parties are not among them.
