Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections

The campaign of election observation during the 2015 presidential election is carried out by the Human Right Center "Viasna" and the RHRPA “Belarusian Helsinki Committee”. The campaign is aimed at evaluating the election from the viewpoint of the Belarusian eletoral legislation and international standards of free and democratic elections, as well as informing the Belarusian public and international community about the progress of the election and results of observation.

Lists of banned campaigning locations announced in all but one districts of Viciebsk region

All the official websites of district executive committees in the Viciebsk region have published information on places prohibited for organizing pickets to campaign for the nomination of presidential candidates. The only exception is Orša district.

The executive committees were to define the places by July 17. The official website of the Orša district executive committee has a separate section dealing with the campaign, including the election schedule. However, it says nothing of locations where collecting signatures will be forbidden.
