Biaroza officials refuse to provide information on election results

“The Biaroza district executive committee sees no reason to provide the results of voting at each polling station,” says a response received by observers Siarhei Rusetski and Tamara Shchapiotkina. The letter notes that, in accordance with Art. 40 of the Electoral Code, appeals are not considered if they are filed later than 10 days after the elections. It also says that, according to Article 13 of the Election Code, “the observer’s term of office starts from the date of accreditation and expires on the day of the establishment of election results by the respective election commission.”

Referring to Art. 13 of the Electoral Code, Siarhei Rusetski and Tamara Shchapiotkina asked to have access to the results of elections at all the polling stations of Biaroza district. The authors said that they wanted to compare the results at the polling stations covered by the observation with those where they were no observers.
